Dr. John Stamatakos, is the director of technical programs for the Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI®), he will present a talk called “Seismic Hazards and Nuclear Facility Safety”.

Biography:
Dr. Stamatakos is the director of technical programs for the Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI®). He leads a team of scientists and engineers on a range projects related to nuclear power generation and related applications in the U.S. and abroad.  Before joining SwRI, Dr. Stamatakos taught at the University of Michigan and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland. At the University of Michigan, Dr. Stamatakos taught courses in geophysics, field mapping, structural geology, and tectonics.
