Gaurav Sant, associate professor and Henry Samueli Fellow in civil and environmental engineering at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, will receive the American Concrete Institute Foundation’s 2016 Jean-Claude Roumain Innovation Award. Sant was recognized for work in how mineral fillers and supplementary cementing materials influence cement hydration rates, and, for his work on the development of carbon-dioxide neutral cement. The award will be formally presented to Sant in October at the institute’s annual fall convention.
