UCLA will host two of 15 MRPI projects, with civil and environmental engineering professor Henry Burton being the lead principal investigator on California Informatics for Equitable Disaster Response and Recovery. Professor Burton will lead a project to develop better responses to natural disasters in the state. His team has received $262,428 over two years to conduct a pilot study to model California earthquakes and floods and their impact, which will help inform state responses.
