The Seismological Society of America (SSA) recognized UCLA graduate student Maria Ramos-Sepulveda with the Student Presentation Award at the SSA’s 2022 Annual Meeting in Bellevue, Washington. Ramos-Sepulveda’s presentation was entitled, “High-pass Corner Frequency Selection for Implementation in the USGS Automated Ground Motion Processing Tool.”

Ramos-Sepulveda is co-advised by civil and environmental engineering professors Scott Brandenberg and Jonathan Stewart. Ramos-Sepulveda’s research also involves collaboration with investigators at the United States Geological Survey (USGS), University of Illinois, and University of Texas.

The award is given to excellent poster or oral presentations, which are nominated by meeting attendees.
