The UCLA Civil and Environmental Engineering department, in partnership with the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability (IoES), is announcing the joint appointment of assistant professor Alvar Escriva-Bou, starting March 2023.

Escriva-Bou’s research interests cover integrated water, food, energy and environmental resources, focusing on modeling approaches to improve decision-making and policy in coupled human-natural systems.

The new faculty member will be teaching classes and conducting research that examine the intersection of society and environmental systems, with a focus on water, energy and food systems.
