Cristina Echeverria-Palencia, PhD candidate in Environmental Engineering under the advisement of Dr. Jennifer Jay, named the 2018 UCLA Graduate Student Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Awardee. Cristina will be honored in a reception hosted by the UCLA chancellor in May.
The award is granted in recognition of extraordinary accomplishments in leadership, innovation, initiatives, and creativity towards advancing diversity, equity and inclusion at UCLA. Cristina’s contributions span recruitment, retention, program implementation and resource development for students of backgrounds historically denied equitable access to education.
