Congratulations to Annesh Borthakur, a Ph.D. student from Professor Mohanty’s group in the Civil & Environmental Engineering department at UCLA, who won the first annual John Ries Scholarship by the Expanded Shale, Clay and Slate Institute (ESCSI). The award celebrates the work of retired Technical Director of ESCSI, John Ries. Borthakur was awarded the national scholarship for his proposal on design of stormwater treatment systems.
