RESEARCH AND INTERESTS
Current research interests of mine include the methodology of optimum structural design and reliability based optimization of structural systems.I have used nonlinear mathematical programming algorithms for the solution of a variety of structural optimization problems, with emphasis on the simplification of computations that can be obtained from an understanding of the physical characteristics of structural behavior. My recent work has also been devoted to incorporating the inherently nondeterministic nature of parameters into designs for specified levels of reliability, including applications to earthquake resistant structures.
