The student group American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE at UCLA) won first place overall at the 2022 Pacific Southwest Symposium (PSWS) last April. The symposium, hosted by the University of California in San Diego, was a four-day event that brought together ASCE student chapters from Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii. The groups competed in nine technical projects and 10 non-technical events.

With 105 Bruins in attendance, the ASCE at UCLA group excelled with 10 technical and 7 non-technical placements, putting UCLA in first place for the second consecutive year! The technical project placements are as follows:
