Tierra Bills, an assistant professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been selected for the 2023 Zephyr Rising Star Award for her “rigorous, equity-driven travel demand modeling.”

The distinction is given to up-and-coming individuals who focus on advancing transportation and improving land use decision-making for the public good. Award recipients should also be open to collaboration and generous with mentorship and community service.

The Zephyr Foundation aims to create a community focused on improving transportation and land use. The foundation seeks to become the main platform where researchers and practitioners can come together and develop equitable, sustainable and reproducible transportation methods.
