On July 4th and 5th, 2019, two earthquakes (magnitudes 6.4 and 7.1, respectively) occurred with their epicenters on the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake (NAWSCL) in Ridgecrest, California. State of the art performance‐based earthquake engineering (PBEE) procedures such as FEMA P‐58 generally treat buildings as “islands,” with respect to modeling regional impacts and post‐earthquake recovery.
